My Approach

SUSAN ANDERTON - THERAPEUTIC COUNSELLOR

Hi, I'm Susan.

At the heart of my work is Person-Centred theory. This means I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can be supported to make sense of your experiences at your own pace. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and that meaningful change comes from feeling truly seen and accepted.

Working together

I see the relationship we build together as a vital part of the healing process. I focus on being present with you, truly listening, and creating a space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings. In short: it’s about us working together as people, not just as counsellor and client, to find the path that feels right for you.

Integrative Practice

I draw from a range of therapeutic models depending on what feels most helpful for you. While my work is rooted in a person-centred approach, I’m also influenced by Existential theory, which explores how we find meaning and navigate life’s big questions; Attachment theory, which looks at how early relationships shape the way we connect with others; and Transactional Analysis, which helps us understand the roles we play in relationships and how past patterns might still be influencing us today.
